Before his retirement after over 30 years of public service, Mr Liew held the appointments of Chief Executive Officer of the Central Provident Fund Board, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Law, Managing Director of the Economic Development Board and Chief Executive of Land Transport Authority.

He currently serves on the Board of the Singapore Bible College and as Chairman of the World Vision Singapore Advisory Council,among other corporate responsibilities.

He is married with three sons and worships at the Telok Ayer Chinese Methodist Church.
